WHAT IS TRENDBARK

Independent trend intelligence for interiors, colour, materials and product direction.

TRENDBARK is not a traditional trend agency. It is an independent, human-led trend intelligence platform built from over a decade of field research, publishing, and direct exchange with a global community of design professionals.

At its core is the work of Elisabetta Rizzato, an Italian interior architect, colour and trend strategist, who has been the voice behind international design blog ITALIANBARK®, since 2013.

TRENDBARK was born from a simple observation: the interior industry is not short of inspiration. It is overwhelmed by it.

Images, fairs, reports, social media, trend lists and market data are everywhere. But for many professionals and brands, the real challenge is not finding more references. It is knowing what to trust, what to ignore, and what is actually meaningful for their next project, collection or strategic direction.

TRENDBARK exists to help bridge that gap.

Through independent field research, visual analysis, design events reporting, colour and material forecasting, professional seminars and strategic advisory, TRENDBARK helps design professionals and brands understand change.

The goal is not to chase trends. The goal is to read what is becoming relevant, understand why it matters, and apply it with intelligence.

Why trends matter

TRENDBARK is built on the belief that interiors, materials and colours shape how people feel, work, rest, gather, remember and belong. Good spaces are not just beautiful: they truly help people live better. This is why TRENDBARK studies trends: not to chase what is fashionable, but to understand how taste is changing, what people are becoming sensitive to, and which design directions can help create more meaningful, human and future-facing spaces.

At TRENDBARK, a trend is understood as a direction of change: a signal that reveals how tastes, behaviours, technologies, markets, materials and ways of living are shifting. It may appear through a colour, a material, a spatial mood, a product detail, a cultural signal, or the return of something familiar that is suddenly being used, perceived or valued differently.

This is why TRENDBARK does not focus on isolated “what’s in / what’s out” lists. It reads signals in context: where they come from, why they are emerging now, how they are being applied, what they connect to, and whether they have real longevity.

No trendwashing. No empty labels. No aesthetic noise dressed up as strategy.

TRENDBARK is a human-led, field-based and community-informed trend platform for the interior industry, built from years of observation, research and dialogue with an international design audience.
